I LOVE this mantra, which I stole from bossbabe.me.
If you’re not where you want to be in your business, learn the skills you need to level up, and get to work!
Success is a decision… and I’ve seen it said by many success experts that it breaks down to something like 10% skillset and 90% mindset, which seems crazy, but it’s really all in your head. If you decide that you’re going to be successful, no matter what, you’re not going to let anything or anyone stop you. I work in network marketing, and the ‘income producing activities’ are not in themselves difficult, but it can be really hard to actually make myself do them. Every day. This is where a strong mindset, a huge WHY, and mental toughness comes in.
Money doesn’t make you happy, but it sure relieves a TON of stress and worry, so think of ways you can get in front of more people, educate your customers, train your builders, and attract more energy (money) to yourself.
You may want to check out the book Happy Money (Increase the Flow of Money with a Simple 2-Step Formula)… interesting way to look at making and attracting money into your life and business.
Tiffany Peterson says: “Serve more to Sell more.” So true! So how can you do more of what you do for more people?
Consider: People will do business and refer business to people they know, like and trust.
So the question is: Do you make it easy for people to know, like and trust you?
Please post what you do, or your ideas, that make it easy for business to come your way.
Funny how people react when you tell them you don’t eat meat… like it’s the strangest thing they’ve ever heard. I was talking with a business friend last week, explaining to her that I’m basically vegan, and she said she couldn’t imagine not eating meat. Really? Why not?
There’s so much recent information on how ‘not good for you’ meat is, how damaging meat production is to the environment, and it goes without saying how awful it is for the animals involved, so my question is really this: Why would you choose to eat meat when there are so many other amazing foods to eat?
I recently watched the movie ‘What the Health‘, and was reminded again why I stopped eating meat several years ago. I had kinda slipped back into some old habits in the last couple of years, mainly for convenience, and this movie was the wake up call I needed to get back on track.
Moving forward, I will be posting information to help you make gradual changes to your food choices, helping you transition to a plant-based food plan. If reducing meat and animal products in your diet is one of your goals, I will help you with real world information, things you can implement right away.
I’m not a diet coach, or a doctor, but I do care about the food I stick in my mouth. I’m not perfect by any means, but I’m doing my best to make better choices on a daily basis, and I’m feeling better and losing weight.
I will say that for me cheese and butter are the hardest things to give up on a vegan diet… I don’t even miss the meat, seriously. I’ve lost my taste for it. But I’m always on the lookout for good non-animal substitutes, and I will post about the ones I really like.
Hope this info is helpful to you too!
I’ve been building an MLM business and team for almost 3.5 years, and here is a list of 12 things that have helped me be successful in an MLM. For the record, I’m with dōTERRA.
- Find an MLM company whose products you LOVE, use and recommend, even if there was no business opportunity attached.
- Become a ‘Product of the Product’, which means you’re using the products and can share and explain them to anyone who asks.
- Find an MLM that has consumable products, where people need to order often, like monthly, as this is how you build long-term residual income.
- Research the integrity of the company, and only go with a company that has a good reputation, has sustainable practices, and gives back to the community.
- Understand the compensation plan. Make sure you understand the types of plans out there: Party plan, Unilevel, etc… dōTERRA is a Unilevel plan with bonuses paid weekly and monthly, depending on your activity, and how much effort you put into it. dōTERRA’s Unilevel plan pays a higher percentage as you build down, and as you help your downline be successful.
- Ongoing personal development is huge, so you need to be willing to read, attend webinars and seminars to constantly improve and uplevel your skills as a salesperson and ultimately as a leader.
- Attend the annual convention and other corporate events with your people. No excuses, make sure you’re there.
- This is a numbers game, so figure out a way to always be meeting new people, whether it’s through events, classes you teach, 1:1s, online groups, Facebook, a blog, just do whatever works for you. And be consistent. Have ‘Income Producing Activities’ on your calendar every day and do them!
- The key to success is deciding that you’re going to be successful, no matter what. It’s all in your mindset, and what you focus on. If you believe you will be successful, do the work and surround yourself with positive, self-motivated people, you will be successful. It takes time, but it’s totally worth it.
- Don’t compare yourself to anyone except who you were yesterday. Enjoy the journey and give yourself permission to succeed on your timetable. We all have family and other obligations, and maybe you are still working a full-time job, but these are not excuses. If you really want it, you will find a way to carve out the time you need to build your business.
- Don’t let the negative social stigma of being part of an MLM stop you from reaching your goals and dreams. You will need to endure some negative criticism from well-meaning but ignorant people, so toughen up. Legitimate MLMs are a fantastic way to make as much money as you want. Do not listen to anyone who is not paying your bills, as they don’t get a say in how you choose to earn money and support your family.
- Never give up! That’s really the only way you can fail in an MLM is to quit. Reject mediocrity and go for it!
I consider myself successful, as I’ve replaced my income from my prior work in the real estate industry, and I’m just getting started. Being successful in this business requires mental and emotional toughness, and willingness to learn and grow.
Would I want to go back to what I was doing before? Never! Do I have days that are tough when I want to quit? Of course. This is like any other job, except I get to decide when and where I work, how much I work, and how much I want to get paid, so there’s no going back for me. I’m hooked!
In the words of Eric Worre, we really do have a better way!

Yep, that’s it!
Decide what you want and go after it my friends! If you want to become, achieve or acquire ‘something’, and you want it so bad that you feel like it’s already yours, and you BELIEVE it’s yours, then it becomes your reality.
I love this quote, and live by it. The hardest part for me is deciding exactly what I want, and believing that I ‘deserve’ it, which is really only an upper-limit belief blocker that I need to work through.
We (Fred and I) have had several examples of this working in our real lives over the past 25 years, and I know it absolutely works.
Here’s one: We decided that we wanted to build a house back in 1999/2000, in Northern California, and we just started moving forward as if it was a done deal. We found a great 5 acre parcel within the price range we set, we agreed on the house design, had it drawn up, got the financing in place, and made it happen.
Looking back, I know it was the deciding and believing that brought it all together, even though I had no concept of these ideals at the time… we just made it happen.
Everything is actually ‘created’ 3 times: First as an idea, next as a plan either in writing or in your head, then it manifests in your life physically.
And it works for relationships, jobs, personal achievements, things you want, pretty much everything!
Our minds are so powerful, and yet many of us live lives of mindless and meaningless existence, trudging through the work week, stuck in a cubicle, working with people we don’t like, doing work that bores us to tears, always wondering ‘what if I could’…
Guess what? YOU CAN!
Decide, Believe & you will Achieve whatever you want… but it’s up to you to take the action.
If you want things to change in your life, you need to change things in your life. Do it now! Don’t wait! There will never be a perfect time, so get on with it! Go for what you want!
This was the message from Tiffany Peterson‘s FB Live training this morning. You don’t need anyone’s permission or approval to be successful, or to create the lifestyle and business you love.
She was coaching us on playing small in our business, and what could potentially be holding us back.
Here’s a big one:
Fear of criticism or disapproval from friends or family, or even from people we don’t know. Really? Yes! And so what! Not everyone is going to like you, and that’s fine. Don’t take it personally, especially from someone who is not supporting you and your family, or paying your bills. Their opinion does not matter. And what others think of you is none of your business.
Once you can shine a light on what is subconsciously holding you back, you can take action to work through, around or over it.
Have your own back… and take the power back from people who may be criticising or discouraging you not to move ahead. You don’t need their approval. You’re not a kid anymore, you’re an adult, and you don’t answer to anyone other than yourself.
Stop being stingy with your gifts! Share what you got with everyone! You are an intelligent, successful, amazing and beautiful person, and don’t allow anyone to tell you differently. Even if you never heard these words from parents, family, teachers or others, it doesn’t mean they are not true.
Many of us are still operating from old negative thoughts or ‘tapes’ that have been playing in our heads since we were kids. What your parents said and how they treated you sticks in your brain, and can shape how we view ourselves and our abilities as adults. I’ve been working through some of this stuff in the last couple of days, specifically about my mother, (sorry, I said it), and I started doing the emotional work to get unstuck.
It’s not easy, and it involves tears, but I can honestly say that I feel like an emotional burden has been lifted, a sort of shift in my feelings, and I’m seeing myself now through a different lens, one that makes me really grateful and happy-ish.
Here’s the book I’m reading now: The Power Is Within You, by Louise Hay. Super powerful and it will help you on your emotional healing journey. I love that what I do is help people know that they can be successful, and they can do whatever they decide to do.
Being self-employed is a tough but rewarding gig, and anything that makes it easier to be present, focused, healthy and productive, I’m all over it. I’ve been successfully self-employed for over 20 years, and I love the benefits I get from using the oils. I’ve used dōTERRA oils for almost 4 years, and they are part of my daily routine. Not sure what I did before discovering these gems…
Here’s my top oil picks, and how they can help you and your team at work:
Frankincense: This is my number 1 go to oil for just about everything, as it’s great for brain balance, focus, sad feelings, inflammation, immune system and cellular health, wound repair, letting go of negative vibrations, and helps you see the ‘truth’ in life.
OnGuard (Protective blend): Great for boosting your immune system, has anti-bacterial, anti-viral and anti-fungal properties, kills germs, kills airborne pathogens when diffused, reduces symptoms and duration of seasonal bugs, keeps you and your staff healthier with less days out of the office. This is a blend of Cinnamon, Clove, Eucalyptus, Rosemary and Wild Orange oils, warm, spicy and very powerful.
InTune (Focus blend): Helps keep you focused on the task at hand, increased concentration and attention to detail, mental clarity, reduces stress and alleviates nervous and anxious feelings. This blend includes Frankincense, Lime, Patchouli, Roman Chamomile, Sandalwood and Ylang Ylang.
Peppermint: Gives an instant energy lift, is cooling, helps relieve occasional headaches and pain, digestive relief, creates emotional distance during heated discussions, and helps with bad breath.
DigestZen: As the name implies, it’s used for digestive relief, gas, bloating, nausea, motion sickness during travel, sinus issues, emotional indigestion, and helps when you’ve ‘taken on too much’. This is a blend of Anise, Caraway, Coriander, Fennel, Ginger, Peppermint and Tarragon oils.
Balance (Grounding blend): Helps you feel balanced, calm, centered and grounded, balances energy, dispels anger and rage, stress and anxiety relief. I use this every day, a drop on the bottoms of my feet, helps me stay grounded and focused. This blend includes Blue Chamomile, Blue Tansy, Frankincense, Ho Wood and Spruce. Very woodsy smelling.
Citrus Bliss (Invigorating blend): Do you have an office full of grumpy, whiny people? Diffuse this blend and change the mood of your co-workers without them knowing! This blend fosters creativity, relieves stress, is uplifting and smells amazing! This is a blend of seven different citrus oils and vanilla: Bergamot, Clementine, Grapefruit, Lemon, Mandarin, Tangerine and Wild Orange.
Serenity (Calming blend): Can’t we all just get along? This blend is great for promoting serene feelings of acceptance, helping reduce criticism, blame and judgement, reduces anxious feelings and resentment towards others. Finally! This blend includes Lavender, Sweet Marjoram, Roman Chamomile, Sandalwood, Vetiver, Ylang Ylang and vanilla.
Passion (Inspiring blend): Feel like you’ve lost your mojo? This blend can help you get it back, and find your inner passion for life, help you love your work, get inspired, clear mental fog, discover clarity of purpose, and encourages openness to new experiences. One of my faves! In this one there is Cardamom, Cinnamon, Clove, Ginger, Sandalwood and Jasmine.
Motivate (Encouraging blend): Are you mentally exhausted and feel like you’re stuck? This is the one for you! This blend helps fight mental fatigue and exhaustion, gives encouragement and confidence, and helps you get things done. This is a blend of Basil, Clementine, Coriander, Melissa, Peppermint and Rosemary.
When using essential oils, quality matters. Essential oils are powerful aromatic compounds that act like messengers throughout your body. dōTERRA Essential Oils can safely be used aromatically by being diffused or inhaled directly from the bottle, topically (some must be diluted with a carrier oil), and most can be used internally, as these pure, therapeutic grade essential oils are basically considered to be food (read the label). When using oils, a drop is a ‘dose’, and less is more, so start with a very small amount. Listen to your body, and I encourage everyone to do their own research. One more super cool thing about these oils: no negative side effects!
There are many other essential oils that are helpful for all different physical and emotional issues, and we’ve just scratched the surface here. But these 10 oils are a great start for busy entrepreneurs who are looking for a more natural way to enhance their every day work experience.
