Natural all-day energy!

Looking for a natural way to have amazing energy all day?

Here’s what I use: Matcha green tea in the morning, with some stevia and coconut milk.

Throughout the day I sip on a big glass of water with 6-8 drops of Slim & Sassy Metabolic Blend by dōTERRA. I also love this blend in iced tea with a little stevia.

The matcha gives you calm alertness, with focused energy. It’s different from coffee, and it’s very soothing. I was a little skeptical about drinking something warm and green in the morning, but now I have this almost every morning… there’s something about matcha, you just need to try it. I’ve tried a few different matcha teas, and these are my top 2:

The Republic Of Tea Matcha Tea Powder, 1.5 Ounce Tea Powder Tin, Gourmet Matcha Green Tea Powder – this one is also available at Whole Foods, for around $18-$19.

If you want an even higher quality organic matcha, I really like: KENKO Matcha Green Tea Powder [USDA Organic] Ceremonial Grade – Japanese 30g [1.06oz], which I’ve only every purchased from Amazon. It’s priced around $28.

Slim & Sassy Metabolic Blend is a proprietary blend from dōTERRA, made from Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade essential oils including grapefruit peel, lemon peel, peppermint, ginger and cinnamon bark. It has a spicy, refreshing flavor, and helps balance your metabolism, helps decrease appetite and curb cravings, especially for carbs.

This blend also supports your digestive system, as lemon and grapefruit have gentle detox and cleansing properties, and peppermint is great for digestive discomfort. In fact, just 1 drop of peppermint oil is equivalent in strength to 28 cups of peppermint tea when used for digestive issues. Ginger has been used for centuries for digestive support, and cinnamon has properties that can help balance blood sugar levels, and oddly enough it tastes naturally sweet.

Feeling overwhelmed? Try some Basil oil

Basil.jpgWhen you’re dealing with stress, and you start feeling overwhelmed, your body is sending you a signal that something is not quite right… and you need to slow down and pay attention to what’s going on inside you. You may have depleted your stores of the natural ‘chemical messengers’ that help you feel calm, grounded and in control. It’s similar to when a car runs out of gas… you ain’t going anywhere until you refill the tank.

The great news is this can be done by changing or incorporating healthier habits, which includes eating mostly organic, plant-based, non-GMO clean food, drinking plenty of clean water, getting sufficient rest (this means doing nothing) and sleep, stress relieving techniques like mediation, deep breathing, exercise, gardening, reading, or whatever you like that takes your mind off of your work, home or other situations that are causing the overwhelming and stressful feelings.

I’ve dealt with this sort of thing for the past few years, and I can say for sure that I’m NOT deficient in any sort of ‘artificial chemicals’ that typical medical practitioners pass out like candy, and I say ‘no thank-you’ to them and the side effects. I took the artificial mood stabilizing pills for years, and it changed my personality when I was under their influence. I’m not going there anymore… I can manage my moods and emotions naturally.

One of the things I love about dōTERRA Essential Oils is that they empower people to take their health into their own hands. No one knows your body better than you do. You have a choice on how you deal with your health, so I suggest you do your research and see if dōTERRA essential oils may be something you can add to your arsenal. They are my first line of defense… just saying. Not all oils are created equal, and these are the best available, anywhere.

Basil is one of my favorite oils for staying calm. Anytime I’m feeling super stressed and overwhelmed, I put a drop or 2 in my palms and rub them over my adrenals. I also inhale the aroma from my hands, which seems to relax me in just a few minutes. Your body knows what to do with plants and plant oils… support yourself naturally.
